Volunteers Needed! "Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total; of all those acts will be written the history of this generation." What can you do to help the Democratic campaigns locally? Plenty! Here are just a few things we need volunteers to help with: Committees: Events - Wing-dings your thing? Let us hear from you. Our Events Committee has a number of events upcoming that require volunteers to make them happen.To find out more about these events and get involved, please contact: Event Committee Chair Dulce Farmer events@democratsofnapavalley.org G.O.T.V. - Do you want to help build a strong Napa Democratic Party from the ground up? Are grassroots politics your thing? Then voter registration/get out the vote committee needs you! Help us register new Democrats and educate existing voters. We are the ground troops of the party. Come join a group of outstanding and fun volunteers! Because of our great volunteers, Napa County became one of the top 10 most improved counties for registered Democrats. We can only continue to improve with your help. We need volunteers who can help suggest and contact potential speakers, and who will also greet and meet speakers (if they are from out-of-town) and who will write a short biography of each speaker that we can post on our website. Other Volunteer Opportunities: Database management - New volunteers are flocking to our cause every hour of every day. That means there's a mountain of volunteer and other information to process. Any time and/or brainpower you can devote to this crucial initiative is highly valued. Help us combat the Republican money machine! Spanish speakers/writers are particularly in demand. Veterans Outreach - A conversation with a veteran makes voters listen hard and think harder. Come join your brothers and sisters in speaking to fellow veterans and the voting public about our cause. The Writer's Bureau seeks volunteers to promote, defend, and describe Democratic candidates, ideals, and values online and in print. We need Letters to the Editor ("LTE"), slices of campaign life for the Weblog ("blog"), and concise descriptions of policies and programs for the volunteers on the street. Many other jobs as well, as times and tactics evolve. Those with experience in writing, advertising, PR, and/or poli-sci are encouraged to volunteer.
