G.O.T.V. [Get out the Vote] Meeting
Arnold calls himself the "people's governor." Well the people's governor isn't listening to the people. A vast majority of Californians don't feel the November special election is necessary.
And then we see the price tag could reach as high as $80 million. Gee, what could $80 million buy?
Here are just a few examples:
• $80 million pays a year of tuition for more than 14,000 UC students and more than
34,000 Cal-State students.
• $80 million pays for more than 2,400 new elementary school teachers.
• $80 million pays for a year of health insurance for approximately 30,000 uninsured
Californians between the ages of 30 - 49.
The Democrats of Napa Valley and the Napa County Democratic Central Committee are working hard leading up to the special election...but we need your help. That's right, WE NEED YOU! We must focus our fight on registering new Democrats, getting people to sign up as permanent absentee voters, and making sure that Californians understand the propositions.
Please join us:
Date: Thursday September 8th
Time: 7pm
Place: Tracy Krumpen's home. Please contact: gotv@democratsofnapavalley.org to RSVP and for directions.
We'll be discussing various activities and volunteer opportunities for all. And we want your ideas! Pizza and drinks will also be provided.

Memorial Day Observance
From U.N.C.O.I.L.: "U.N.C.O.I.L is sponsoring a solemn, bipartisan observance in remembrance of those American soldiers killed in Iraq and
Afghanistan. Certainly, we care equally for the innocent Iraqis and
Afghanis killed as well. To honor them in a similar manner, we would need a length of over 20 miles to display their names. A sobering thought.
We plan to span both sides of the third street bridge with the names of all the fallen soldiers and Need help holding up the names . Bring the family - children are welcome. The littlest of the kids can be underfoot and the older ones can help hold the names up. Your attendance is greatly appreciated. "
